Why We Built the Rampage
When we started Black Eagle Arrows in 2011, we didn't have a goal of building the biggest arrow company in the industry. We wanted to build arrows we believed in—arrows we would hunt with ourselves and arrows we could stand behind without hesitation.
The Rampage is one of the best examples of that philosophy.
When we introduced it in 2012, hunters were being forced to make compromises. Standard-diameter arrows were dependable and easy to build, but many hunters wanted better penetration and improved performance in the wind. Smaller diameter shafts offered some of those advantages, but they often came with trade-offs in component availability, durability, or ease of building.
We didn't think hunters should have to choose.
Our goal wasn't to build the smallest arrow on the market or the fastest arrow on the shelf. We wanted to build an arrow that balanced everything a serious bowhunter needs. Speed matters. Penetration matters. Durability matters. Accuracy matters. But none of those things matter if they come at the expense of the others.
That's why we chose a .204 inside diameter.
Even today, I believe it's one of the best all-around hunting platforms ever developed.
Why a 5 mm arrow?
The 5mm platform gives hunters a combination that's difficult to beat.
A smaller diameter shaft slips through the wind better than a traditional standard-diameter arrow and generally offers improved penetration on game. At the same time, it retains excellent component compatibility and is easier to build than many ultra-micro-diameter arrows.
That balance was exactly what we were looking for.
We weren't interested in designing an arrow that excelled in one category while giving up performance everywhere else. We wanted an arrow that could confidently hunt whitetails in the Midwest, elk in the Rockies, black bears in Canada, hogs in the South, or antelope on the plains.
One arrow.
Virtually every North American hunting situation.
That's what the Rampage was designed to do.
We Believe Consistency Is More Important Than Marketing
If you've been around archery very long, you've seen trends come and go.
Every few years the industry finds a new number to chase. Sometimes it's speed. Sometimes it's FOC. Sometimes it's kinetic energy or shaft diameter. Those conversations are interesting, but they don't always make hunters more successful.
We've always believed something different.
Confidence comes from consistency.
That's why Black Eagle doesn't stop at measuring straightness.
Every premium arrow we build is Super Sorted™ for spine, straightness, and weight because those three variables determine how consistently arrows perform from shot to shot.
Anyone can build one great arrow.
Our goal is to make sure every arrow in your dozen performs like your best one.
When your arrows group tighter, broadheads tune easier, and every shaft behaves the same, you stop wondering about your equipment and start focusing on making the shot.
That's exactly where your confidence should be.
Built for the Way Hunters Actually Hunt
The Rampage wasn't designed in a vacuum.
It was designed around the way real hunters use their equipment.
That means spending months shooting in the backyard before season opens. Riding in the back of a truck on rough roads. Flying across the country in a bowcase. Sitting in freezing temperatures, soaking rain, dusty prairie winds, and everything in between.
An arrow earns its reputation over years, not advertisements.
One of the things I'm most proud of is how many hunters tell us they're still shooting the Rampage after trying the latest thing everyone was talking about. That's never because we had the biggest marketing budget. It's because the arrow earned their trust.
There's no better compliment than that.
Why Hunters Continue Choosing Rampage
Hunters who shoot the Rampage usually aren't looking for gimmicks.
They're looking for an arrow they can depend on.
They want broadheads to fly with field points.
They want excellent penetration without giving up durability.
They want an arrow that's forgiving to tune, easy to build, and consistent enough that every shaft in the quiver gives them complete confidence.
That's exactly what the Rampage was engineered to deliver.
Not just on opening day.
Every day.
Is the Rampage Right for You?
If you're looking for the absolute smallest diameter arrow available, one of our micro-diameter shafts may be a better fit.
If you're building an extremely heavy, high-FOC setup, we have options designed specifically for that.
But if you're looking for what many hunters consider the sweet spot—a hunting arrow that balances speed, penetration, durability, and consistency better than almost anything else on the market—the Rampage was built for you.
It's equally at home chasing whitetails, mule deer, elk, black bears, hogs, and just about any other North American big game animal.
It's the arrow I'd hand to a hunter who asked me for one setup they could trust almost anywhere.

One Final Thought
There will always be another trend in archery.
Someone will always claim to have the fastest arrow, the smallest diameter, or the newest technology.
That's part of the business.
We've always believed something different.
When the moment finally comes, confidence doesn't come from knowing your fastest arrow is in your quiver.
It comes from knowing every arrow in your quiver is worthy of the shot.
That's what the Rampage has represented since 2012.
And as long as we're building arrows at Black Eagle, that's exactly what it will continue to represent.
